• Whitening: Whitening procedures lighten the color of teeth. This can be done via an in-office treatment or a dentist-supervised at-home system. With the at-home system, the person wears custom-fitted trays holding the whitening gel, for short periods of time everyday. Uses: Stained, discolored or dull teeth.
• Veneers: These are thin, custom-made porcelain or composite laminates, which are bonded to the teeth. They are able to change the shaped, length and color of teeth. Uses: Veneers can correct chipped, cracked, gapped, worn-down, or stained teeth that don't respond to tooth whitening.
• Tooth-colored Fillings: Used where decay or old, unsightly restorations are present. Such decay or fillings can be replaced by natural-colored porcelain or composite materials, which are bonded to the teeth.
• Crowns, Bridges, and Implants: These procedures are recommended where more extensive restoration is needed and are often used to replace missing teeth. A bridge is a fixed dental appliance cemented or bonded to adjacent teeth that have been prepared to provide anchor supports. A crown is a cap or cover used to replace the missing or damaged portions of a tooth. Crowns and bridges can also correct bite dysfunction. Implants are essentially artificial roots placed into the bone to support crowns, bridges and dentures.

• Bleaching is a procedure that brightens teeth that are discolored, stained, or have been darkened because of injury. This procedure may be done at the dental office and/or it may be combined with a supervised take-home bleaching kit for optimal results.

1. A comprehensive examination has to be done to identify your needs and wants. Any dentist needs a thorough knowledge of your dental situation to be able to customize the right plan for you. If it is a couple of teeth or your whole mouth, information gathering is always the first step to creating a new wonderful smile and comfortable bite. There is no such thing as too much information when it comes to your case. Nothing could be worse than spending a lot of money beautifying your teeth only to be undermined by an unidentified problem later. Dr Bertolini gives the most thorough exam available today.
2. A customized, well-defined course of treatment is necessary to get the best results and a beautiful smile. Your customized treatment plan will be devised using all of the information obtained at your examination appointment. Truly the quickest way and most efficient way to a successful result is through a methodical step by step approach. Dr Bertolini personally spends hours going over your case to identify your specific needs to get the result you want. After he has devised your plan he will present it to you in an informative and relaxed atmosphere. He will answer all of your questions and address all of your concerns. He will tell you what can be done and also discuss with you what options you have. Often times, if the case permits, he can show you what your teeth will look like via a mock up model or a mock up right on your own teeth, "a preview of coming attractions", so you can start to see the magnificent changes that can be brought about by today's cutting edge cosmetic dentistry. He will also discuss with you the sequence of treatment, what types of materials will be used and how much time will be needed.
3. The fee for your treatment should be clearly explained. After all your questions have been satisfactorily answered we will discuss the fees for your work. Extensive cosmetic dentistry cases are a significant investment and you need to know exactly what it will cost you. We know from experience, after seeing the dramatic changes in an individual from expertly performed cosmetic dentistry, that the value of our work far outweighs and goes well beyond the cost of our work. In most cases we can quote the fee exactly to you and financial arrangements can be made with Cheryl, our business assistant. Some cases though will have question areas, and in these cases, "to be determined later" situations will be explained and defined so even in the gray areas you will know most probably what can be done or what will happen. For example whether or not a root canal will be needed or whether a previous dental problem can be successfully restored. If you have dental insurance we will work with you to get the maximum coverage that your plan allows. If you have a budget, we will sequence the case (as much as possible depending on the demands of the case itself) so you can comfortably do your work over time. You can afford cosmetic dentistry and we will do our best to help you get it done in a comfortable financial manner. 
4. The Doctor's level of experience and expertise is vital. Dr Bertolini has over 30 years experience in doing significant cosmetic restoration of smiles. He can take a situation of broken down, crowded teeth and restore it to a straight, bright, attractive, comfortable smile. Most dental procedures can be completed in our office, from routine fillings, to root canals, or orthodontics.

Skill and expertise are aided by the best technology in our field. For instance, Dr. Bertolini uses magnification loops while doing all dental procedures. These loops allow Dr. Bertolini to see 3 to 6 times better than the normal 20-20 naked eye can see. Believe me, the results are amazing! How well do you want your doctor to see? We are always updating our methods and procedures with the newest materials and methods. Here are examples of things we do that many dentists don't. 1. The use of decay detecting dye while working on your teeth to make sure all the decay is removed. 2. The use of special burrs that only remove decay from teeth. 3. We disinfect your tooth before we permanently restore it. Also, no 'silver' (amalgam) fillings are used in Dr Bertolini's office and have not been since 1984. We do not use silver fillings principally because they contain "toxic" mercury and also because they cause most teeth to crack and break. Our restorations are either fabricated of tooth colored composite or ceramic and in some specific areas where it will not show, gold.
